Its plaque text describes the Ottawa River as flowing through Algonquin Traditional Territory and names Kitchisippi. It treats Neutral Nation, Attawandaron and Hatiwendaronk as historical naming forms while explicitly noting uncertainty about the people's own name. The Town of Lincoln's 2026 research-collection announcement was also inspected through its full indexed text and explicitly confirms southern Ontario/Niagara.
